I haven’t been to carlisle since 03 when I was 11 years old and the 1953 first year cars were 50 years old. At the time my dad and I lusted after the mid years and my dad spent years looking at cars until he bought a 65 3 years ago. We thought it appropriate for our cars 50th to make the trek from Washington, D.C. To carlisle pa for the annual old white dudes in hawaiin shirts convention...jokes

Kinja'd!!!

When I was 11 I thought these retro modern cars like the yellow were the coolest thing ever, today not so much

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

This drag car was a claimed 6 second car

Kinja'd!!!

While they’re not worth $20k, those Kelsey Hayes wheels are actually pretty rare and pricey. The bolt-on style that you saw was only produced in ‘67 (’63-’66 wheels of this vintage were knock-off style), which is why they are so sought after today. They are easily worth about $2500 per wheel, and that is on the slightly “cheap” side.

I didn't get a picture but I also saw a set of claimed original genuine gran sport style wheels for a c2 priced at 16k

I’ve never been to the Corvette show and I only live 20 minutes away. I am at school right now though

Do you have any photos of a red ‘86 convertible with a wing? My next-door-neighbor was there.

Probably in a Hawaiian shirt.

I actually blew this off because I don’t care for Corvette’s much, but I might have gone if I’d known that C7R was there.

I saw this car on a show on Velocity channel this morning. The guy rebuilt a wreck into a drag car around 1990, and then sold it, and then hunted it down in PA and bought it back. Great story.

Thanks for posting these.

I agree on the cutaways. I enjoy looking at a Camry cutaway. Those old Corvette cutaways are really cool.

I saw a special fi unit for some insane price, can’t remember if it was specific to z06 or not. The big tank cars are awesome, I saw one in the 70’s awhile ago. You should look up the recent 427 convertible ao smith bodied that sold for 195 and had some huge debate on it, fairly interesting. I can find you a link if you’d like.

Efi kits for mid years were for sale at around 10-15k. Obviously if it's original and genuine and not a new version it could be worth more but yea the z06 and l88 cars are crazy pricey and some of em had like 25-30 gallon gas tanks

Dayum. Don't think I've ever seen a pair of those for sale. I'd be hesitant to spend $16k. Very hesitant.

Look for a black C5 with ZR1 replica wheels painted black with machined silver spokes and a nice exhaust. Belongs to a friend of mine. Has 208k miles on it!

Idk how one would acquire those....they only made a handful of gs cars and if genuine they should be worth more than what that guy was charging for factory 67 wheels

There were only 5 original Grand Sports made, so I HIGHLY doubt they are off of one of those. Maybe Zora or some of the racers who had one of the 5 had some spare sets? I dunno. I'd have my doubts with them.
